What is a Unity Ceremony?
Unity ceremonies are a wonderful way to celebrate the joining of your separate lives into one, married life and may also give you the opportunity to honor your religious or ethnic traditions during your wedding ceremony. You can include parents, siblings, friends and children, or just yourselves, in these ceremonies and be as creative as you’d like in creating and incorporating a unity ceremony that speaks to your relationship and personalities. These ceremonies often take place after your Vows and Ring Ceremony, and before the Pronouncement (though a unity ceremony really can fit in to any part of the wedding ceremony where you think it’s most fitting). Some of the most popular Unity Ceremonies are Breaking of the Glass, Jumping of the Broom, and Lighting a Unity Candle. Unity Ceremonies are just one more way to further customize your wedding ceremony as you work with your Officiant.
